  1. Jodi, I am making your Christmas Measure Up and I'm having a very difficult time finding fabric for the face, ears and nose. Do you have any suggestions on where to go or specific fabrics I could order?

  2. No suggestions. When I am looking for flesh tone fabric, I sometimes have to tea dye a light pink to get something that is less pink and more brown. I actually use Rit Dye/taupe color, very weak dye bath, like tea to drink in color. That usually results in a peachy pink that is toned down. Hope that helps.

  3. Hi Jodi I am working on the Fall Ensemble Project that you did the tutorial on last year and for the life of me I cannot understand what size to cut any thing I am using MTC software and Blackcat Lynx machine. Everything just looks strange to me and I have been doing papercrafting for a pretty long time. Is there anything you could do to help me? Thank you so much.

    1. Bobbi, I am afraid that as a designer, I am not that up to date on the different systems that can use the svg files we publish. I will forward your request and concerns to our technical guy Mike and we'll see if he can come up with a good solution. I will need a more direct way to contact you, so you can email me directly at hearthsewnpatterns(at)yahoo(dot(com). Or go to the SnapDragon Snippets.com customer service tabs and request help there. Or to the SVG Attic customer service tab and request help there, which ever site you purchased through.

  6. That design is available as a set through SVG Attic. It is available as a digital download svg file that can be used with software that runs a digital cutting machine such as Silhouette America's Cameo, or Cricket, etc. Here is the link: http://www.svgattic.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=125_86&products_id=688

  7. I made several Valentine Rose bouquets from a previous years blog.
They are gorgeous. I am giving them to my daughters. I am excited to see their reaction. Thanks for the beautiful design and also for the very detailed assembly instructions.

  8. What would I have to do if I want to sell some of your designs in a local craft show? They’re all marked for personal use only at the silhouette store.

  9. You would need to obtain a commercial license. Those can be obtained (purchased) through SnapDragonSnippets.com . You will see the Commercial Licensing button in the top banner. Open it to find details.

  10. I have purchased your Victorian dimensional key & the keyhole from the Latch Flap 3D Box (both May 2017) from Silhouette. Do you have a dimensional label/bookplate that would go with these items? Love your designs & enjoy putting them together!!

  11. I just bought the Advent tree file on Silhouette and can't find the directions on your site anymore. Would you know where I could find them!? :P

  12. Hi, I've found your files in the Silhouette store but they don't have a commercial license option. I noticed there used to be a commercial license available (from the old blog) and was wondering if there was still a way to get one? Absolutely love your 3D projects. I'm looking to have a small stall at my local monthly town market and would love to be able to make some of your projects to sell on the stall. Thanks.

  13. We currently are not doing commercial licenses.

  14. Hi, I am doing the Peeking Baby Cascade Card. In your instructions you say that there was an error with the Silhouette Store file, as it didn't have the back piece with the slot from the bottom. I have re-downloaded the file from the SIL store but it's still the same file. How can I get just that one piece so I can finish this card? Thank you.

    1. This is an interesting place to post this kind of question. If you are having a download problem, that is something you need to contact Silhouette America about.

  17. Hi Jodi,
I purchased the Bee with Spiral Base and when I upload the svg into Cricut design space, it doesn't come out the right size, and some of the score lines are not in the right place. Not sure if you know that Design space has issues with file sizes, so if you could give me the width of the complete file, I can fix the issue. Not sure if you can correct the score line issue, or if anyone else has reported this. Is there any way you can help me out?

    1. This is the kind of issues that Design Space continually has with our svg files. We have expressed this to Silhouette America but since they continue to offer these as "compatible" with all systems, this is an problem you will need to take to them. When you say the width of the complete file, I'm not sure what you are asking. I could send you the size of the artboard which would have space around it, or the size of the "footprint" which would contain - edge to edge - where the edges of the outer shapes would fall. Just need to know what would help. You are welcome to try to communicate with me more directly through email hearthsewnpatterns@yahoo.com

  18. I love your Cathedral Windows card with its precise directions. What I don't see are the dimensions of the circles and individual squares. Do you have that somewhere? Thanks so much!

    1. This is a cut file, not a set of directions for cutting your own shapes. The dimensions would probably be decimal fractions that would be difficult to duplicate with regular drafting by hand tools. If you want to pursue this, you can contact me by email hearthsewnpatterns@yahoo.com

  19. Bonjour,
    Cordialement

    1. The only reason that my designs are removed from the Silhouette online store is if they have stopped selling well enough and the company retires them. This is only for very old designs. If you have specific examples of designs you believe may be missing, you can let me know. Also, in July of this year, my Hearthsewn designs line split from the SnapDragon Snippets line where I formerly was part of that design team. Designs they own may be found under their "Artist" button.

  20. I am wondering if you have made a 3D Pipers Piping for the 12 Days of Christmas. I purchased all of your other 3D's for the 12 Days, just need the Pipers Piping. Love your creativity!

  21. Add me to the growing list of unhappy Silhouette Design Studio Store customers. I purchased on 10/14/2014 airplane design #65023. It is a bi-plane that you can slide a candy bar in it' fuselage. I cannot open the file. Every project that I have ordered from this company I have a problem opening. I have contacted them so many times about all these problems....my reply each time? A form email telling me to send another email with a certain code number in the return info. I obediently do as told, and I get zero response. I think they're just waiting for me to drop dead--but they're still real eager to get my $$$....but all they will be getting from me is bad publicity! Here's my question: Where can I buy the svg files so I can make this? Anywhere, please, except Design Store. Thanks.

    1. Bobbye, this is a problem we had when we ran our own store, that is, incompatibility with non-Silhouette machines. If you are trying to use Cricut or any of the other electronic die cutters, we believe you may still have a problem getting them (particularly Cricut) to use the svg files. You will need to purchase an svg file version from Silhouette. Another alternative is to email me with a request to receive the gratis svg file from me by return email and I will send you the svg file directly, as a favor. I make no claims that the svg file I send will work with other cutting machines. These problems were what made us close down the SnapDragon Snippets online store. Too much customer service time for very little income, and Cricut keeps changing their proprietary software to make it hard for their customers to use anything but their own files. If interested, email to hearthsewnpatterns(at)yahoo(dot)com

  23. Hi Jodi, I purchased the Dozen squares quilt blocks from the Silhouette store. They are great designs! However, when I load them into Silhouette studio, the different months are different sizes, e.g. January is smaller than March, for example. I was surprised by this, as I'd like to make them to be displayed on the same hanging board and I thought they would all be the same size. Did my files become corrupted when I downloaded them? Any help would be appreciated, thank you,
    Nancy

    1. So sorry for your trouble. If you are using a system like Cricut Design Space, our experience is that their software does change things depending on how they are set up on the artboard when a file is released from Silhouette America. We really have no answers for you, since this is not our problem. One solution is to check the size of the main component/base in one of the files you think is opening at the right size, then figure out what ratio/percentage you need to enlarge or reduce for the other separate designs, enlarging all the shapes at one time with the change percentage.

  24. Hi Jodi, I'm trying to find your terms of use. I want to purchase several 3D items through the Silhouette Store but I need to know if I donate them to our church fund raiser, can they sell them or does a license need to be purchased per item? Thank you, Michelle Brown.

    1. Michelle, I'm not sure we have "terms of use" except where the designs are marked as "commercial license available". As far as I am concerned, you may proceed to do what you wish with designs you purchase and create and donate as you have described. This is NOT strictly a commercial use, but a donation. I am OK with that. If you need some kind of written release from me, contact me through email at hearthsewnpatterns@yahoo.com and reference your comment and mine. I can return a written release to you. I am a woman of faith, too, and I applaud your interest in helping your church fund raiser!
